Space conquering -  Muslim astronaut

There is no end to what people know about space. Research is ongoing.  Scientists take part in the adventure of space travel. So far, 11 Muslim astronauts, among others, have contributed to the space conquest. Sultan bin Salman was the first Muslim astronaut to have the privilege of space travel. And the first Muslim woman Anusheh Ansari traveled in space. Today's discussion about Muslim astronauts.

★1. The first Muslim astronaut was Sultan bin Salman

Sultan bin Salman was the first Muslim astronaut to have the privilege of space travel. He was the first Muslim and Arab citizen to travel in the STS-51G spacecraft on June 17, 1985. Born on June 27, 1956, Sultan bin Salman had the opportunity to travel in space when he was only 29 years old. Earlier, in 1982, Sultan started his career as a researcher in the International Communications Department of the Saudi Ministry of Information. But Sultan bin Salman did not want to spend his life as an astronaut or secretary general or researcher.

He has worked in various non-profit organizations and gained a reputation. Especially for children with disabilities. That's why in 1997 the Saudi government appointed him chairman of the National Disability Law Management Committee. He held different titles at different times. Among them is the President of the Society for Archaeological Studies of King Saud University, the founder of the Advisory Committee of King Saud University, the member of the Board of Directors and the Executive Committee, and the Chairman of the Riyadh King Khaled International Airport Development Board. He was given a royal reception in 1985.

★2. The second Muslim astronaut was Mohammed Faris

Three years after Sultan bin Salman's space travel, another Muslim travels in space. He is Mohammed Faris who is recognized as the second Muslim astronaut. On July 22, 1987, he became the first Syrian citizen and the second Arab to travel in the Mir EP-1 spacecraft. Mohammad Faris took part in various important studies during space travel.

He was born on May 26, 1951 at the age of 36 and flew into space. He was later awarded the Order of Lelin, the Hero of the Soviet Union, and the Merit in Space Exploration Award. He talks about his experience in various educational institutions and continues to contribute in creating enthusiasm for science among the students. He is married to Guild Akhil.

★3. Anousheh Ansari is the first woman astronaut in the world

Anousheh Ansari was named the eighth person in the world to be named a space tourist. Anusheh Ansari, an American of Iranian descent, also became the first Muslim woman to travel in space. Suez traveled in the TMA-9 spacecraft in September 2006. He,his space journey was 18 days. As the first Iranian-American Muslim, George Mason was awarded various honors, including the University Entrepreneur Excellence Award and the Young Entrepreneur of the Year Awards. 

Anousheh Ansari is the co-founder and chairman of Prodia Systems. Prior to that, he was the co-founder and CEO of Telecom Technology. The Ansari family is the sponsor of the Ansari X Prize. A few days after her 40th birthday in 2006, she became the first woman and the eighth astronaut. She is the first Muslim Iranian female tourist. The day is not far away when women will regularly travel in space as tourists. Anusheh Ansari became the world's first female space tourist 15 years ago. His spaceflight was entirely his own money. ★4. Musa Manarov traveled in space twice

After Mohammad Faris, Musa Manarov traveled in space in the same year. At the same time, Musa Manarov was named as the third Muslim astronaut. He is the first Muslim astronaut to have traveled to space twice. At the same time, he spent most of his time in space travel. He stayed in space for a total of 541 days. Mohammad Manarov made his first space flight in 1987 on the Mir New-3 spacecraft and the second in 1990 on the Suez TM-11. He was born on March 22, 1951. He was 36 years old when he first traveled to space. According to astronaut Paris, he has also been awarded various prizes, including the Hero of the Soviet Union and the Order of Lenin. In his personal life he prefers to be alone.

★5. The first Afghan astronaut was Abdul Ahad Mohmand

Abdul Ahad Mohmand is the fourth Muslim to have traveled in space. At the same time, he has gained a reputation as the first Afghan astronaut. He completed his journey on 29 August 1988 in the Mir EP-3 spacecraft. From his childhood, Abdul Ahad Mohmand dreamed of one day going into space. Man is as big as his dream. He has realized his dream. Abdul Ahad Mohmand was born on January 1, 1959. 

He was only 29 years old during space travel. He spent nine days in space. The Muslim astronomer has always been deeply interested in religion. He is the first astronaut to travel in space with the Holy Quran. He was later awarded many prizes.

★6. Kazakhstan's first astronaut Toktar Aubakirov

Kazakhstan's first astronaut Toktar Aubakirov. He also gained fame as the fifth Muslim astronaut. At a slightly older age, Toktar Aubakirov had the good fortune to become an astronaut. He was 45 years old at the time of the trip. He made the trip on October 2, 1991 in the Suez M-13 spacecraft. Toktar Aubakirov was born on July 27, 1946. He was awarded the Hero of the Kazakhstan and the Hero of the Soviet Union awards, among many other space honors.

★7. Talgat Musabayev was in space for 341 days

Talgat Musabayev stayed in space for 341 days. He traveled in space as the second astronaut and the 6th Muslim in Kazakhstan. Talgat Musabayev was in space for the second time. He was the first Muslim astronaut to travel to space three times in total. He stayed for a total of 341 days, 9 hours and 48 minutes. Musabayev made his first spaceflight on November 4, 1994, his second on August 25, 1998, and his third on May 6, 2001. Born on January 7, 1951, the astronaut made his first spaceflight at the age of 43.

★8. Salijan Sharipov was in space for 201 days

Russia's Salijan Sharipov became the seventh Muslim astronaut to travel in space on January 20, 1998. He traveled for the first time in the STS-89 spacecraft. He then traveled to space for the second time and achieved a record of being there for a long time. He is in space for the third highest 201 days. He made his second space flight on October 14, 2004. Salijan Sharipov was born on August 24, 1964. The astronaut first traveled in space at the age of 34. From his school days he aspired to be an astronaut. He has received many awards, including the Hero of the Russian Foundation Award. He was also named one of the first Uzbek nationalist astronauts in the Kyrgyz Republic.

★9. Sheikh Musazafar was there for more than 10 days

Manipal University student astronaut Sheikh Musazafar Shukur, a Malaysian citizen. He is the ninth Muslim person to travel in the 'Suez TMA-11' spacecraft on October 10, 2007. Astronaut Musafar Shukur was fond of his religion from his childhood. Pray five times regularly all the time. Keep the Holy Quran with you wherever you go. He set a rare example by performing the first prayers in space. He came to the discussion all over the world by videotaping the scene of prayers in space. Born in 1972, the Malaysian stayed in space for 10 days, 20 hours and 14 minutes. He was 35 years old then. He has been honored and given many prizes from different countries of the world.

★10. Hajja al-Mansuri took with him the Holy Qur'an

The latest astronaut in the Muslim world is Hajja Al-Mansuri, a citizen of the United Arab Emirates. He traveled to space on September 25, 2019 on a mission called 'Suez MS-15'. He took the Holy Quran with him on space travel. As the first Emirati and Arab he traveled to space. He stayed in the ISS for eight days. He participated in several scientific experiments with other international astronauts. Mansoori, a former pilot of the UAE Army, was given a 10 kg bag by the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center before leaving for space. In the bag, he completed the trip with a 100 percent silk UAE flag, 30 seeds of the algae tree, and a picture of the country's founder, Sheikh Zayed Al-Nahyan.
